Automated Weighing, Filling and Seaming for Canned Pet Food Speed up 150 cans/min

Smart Weigh’s wet pet food tin can filling line integrates sticky-food weighing, multi-position can filling, gravy dosing, lid placement and high-speed can seaming into one synchronized production system.

At the center of the line is a customized screw-feeding multihead weigher designed for sticky, moist and irregular ingredients. A multi-filling station connects the batch-weighing process with the continuous can seamer, helping reduce machine waiting, can accumulation and product spillage.

The line is suitable for canned dog food, canned cat food, meat chunks, shredded meat, tuna flakes, organ meat mixtures and chunks in gravy.

Why use a screw multihead weigher for wet pet food?

Conventional vibration feeding may not move sticky meat and fish products consistently. Screw feeders actively deliver the product into the weigh hoppers, helping reduce bridging, uneven feeding and product buildup.

Can one multihead weigher work with a 150 cans/min seamer?

The complete-line output must be calculated according to the filling weight, product recipe and tested multihead-weigher capacity. Multi-position filling, dual-discharge or multiple-weigher configurations can be used for higher output requirements.

Can the line fill both meat chunks and gravy?

Yes. Meat, fish or vegetable portions are weighed by the multihead weigher, while gravy, broth, sauce or jelly solution is added by a separate liquid filling machine.

Is the line suitable for pâté or mousse?

The screw multihead weigher is mainly designed for chunky, shredded or flaked products. Smooth pâté and mousse normally require a piston filler, pump filler or another dedicated volumetric system.

Can the machine handle different tin can sizes?

Yes. The SW-GTZX-4 can seamer is suitable for can diameters from Ø52.5 to 99 mm and can heights from 39 to 160 mm. Change parts are configured according to the selected can formats.

Can the line connect with existing canning equipment?

Yes. Smart Weigh can customize conveyor height, filling layout, accumulation sections and control interfaces to connect with existing gravy fillers, retorts, labeling machines or case-packing equipment.
