Frequently Ask Questions
  • 1) Which machine is best for whole beans vs. ground coffee?
For whole beans, a multihead weigher paired with VFFS or premade pouch offers high speed and gentle handling; for ground coffee, an auger filler provides dust-controlled dosing and repeatable accuracy. If you plan to run both, we recommend dual dosing modules or quick-change tooling, plus dedicated recipes to maintain weights and seal integrity across SKUs.
  • 2) How do I choose between premade pouch and VFFS?
Pick premade when visual impact and format variety are top priorities, or when you need frequent changeovers across short runs. Choose VFFS when total cost per pack and throughput dominate the business case. Many roasters deploy both: premade for premium lines, VFFS for core wholesale products.
  • 3) Do I need degassing valves and nitrogen?
Freshly roasted beans release CO₂, so one-way valves help vent gas without letting oxygen in. Nitrogen to protect flavor and shelf life. We recommend combining valves with MAP when targeting long distribution chains, larger pack sizes, or stringent sensory requirements.
  • 4) Can I run recyclable mono-material films?
Yes—mono-PE/PP films are increasingly feasible with the right sealing jaws, temperatures, and dwell times. Expect to validate sealing windows and possibly trade a small amount of speed for recyclability goals. We’ll provide film test protocols and trial runs to confirm performance on your SKUs.
  • 5) How fast is changeover and cleaning?
With recipe recall and tool-less change parts, format changeovers typically take minutes to under an hour, depending on format shifts (e.g., 250 g to 1 kg, zipper on/off). For ground coffee, plan routine dust-area cleaning and filters replacement; for beans, dry cleaning is usually sufficient and faster.
  • 6) Can one line handle both jars/cans and pouches?
Yes, via modular layouts: a shared dosing station (auger for ground, multihead for beans) can feed either a can/jar turret or a pouch machine through diverters. While you can share upstream systems, we recommend separate sealing and end-of-line modules to avoid bottlenecks.
