What is a checkweigher?

A checkweigher is an automated weighing machine used in the packaging process to ensure product weights meet specified standards. Its role is critical in quality control, as it prevents underfilled or overfilled products from reaching customers. Types of Checkweighers

There are two types of checkweighers, each designed to meet different operational needs and manufacturing process. These models vary in terms of their functionality, accuracy, and use cases.

Dynamic / Motion

Checkweigher

These checkweighers are used for weighing products on a moving conveyor belt. They are typically found in high-speed production lines where speed and accuracy are paramount. Dynamic checkweighers are perfect for continuous production, as they provide real-time weight measurements as products pass through.

Static Checkweigher

Static checkweighers are typically used when the product remains stationary during the weighing process. They are commonly employed for larger or heavier items that do not require rapid throughput. During operation, workers can follow prompts from the system to add or remove product in a stationary position until the target weight is reached. Once the product meets the required weight, the system automatically conveys it to the next stage in the process. This method of weighing allows for higher precision and control, making it ideal for applications that demand accurate measurements, such as bulk commodities, heavy packaging, or specialized industries.

 Manual Adjustment: Operators can add or remove product to reach the target weight.

 Low to Moderate Throughput: Suitable for slower processes where accuracy is more important than speed.

 Cost-Effective: More affordable than dynamic checkweighers for low-volume applications.
