The environmental conditions that affect the weighing accuracy and efficiency of the multihead weigher mainly include: temperature, dust, vibration, air flow, electrical interference, characteristics of the product being weighed, humidity and equipment cleaning, explosion hazard areas, etc. The supplier of the multihead weigher should be consulted for the best solution as to what type of multihead weigher is required for a particular environment. 1. Temperature In any application, the ambient air temperature around the multihead weigher should not exceed 55°C. The material on the multihead weigher is isolated from all electronic components, so it is allowed to transport materials with a higher temperature than the ambient temperature.
A typical multihead weigher can transport materials with a temperature of 100 °C, and it is possible to transport materials with a temperature of 200 °C after special measures are taken. Extreme temperatures and temperature fluctuations can affect weighing performance, such as the weighing of refrigerated or heated products where ambient temperature changes by more than 10°C per day. Very cold or very hot products may require the use of special belts.
Extreme temperatures or large temperature fluctuations may generate condensation, in which case it is necessary to enhance the condensation resistance of the multihead weigher with insulating and sealing materials to protect the junction box, controller, motor and load cell. Electromagnetic force recovery type load cell is temperature stable, it is not sensitive to temperature change. Relatively speaking, resistance strain-type load cells are more affected by temperature changes, which will lead to a decrease in weighing accuracy.
Using an auto-zero multihead weigher reduces the effect of temperature changes on weighing performance. 2. Dust For the dust directly adjacent to the multihead weigher, it is feasible to use the weighing part to isolate it, or take measures to keep the environment of the production area around the multihead weigher clean. Dust falling on the weighing section offsets the zero point of the multihead weigher. If the dust continuously falls on the conveyor or platform, the multihead weigher needs to be continuously zeroed.
3. Vibration Any vibration will cause the multihead weigher to generate noise signals and deteriorate the weighing performance. The vibration can be caused by nearby machinery or hoppers, or by the multihead weigher coming into contact with the front and rear conveyors. Although the multihead weigher uses special software to automatically filter the external vibration interference, some vibrations are high-energy and low-frequency, and it is difficult to completely eliminate them through filtering.
4. Air flow For the multihead weigher with a small weighing range, due to its high sensitivity, the air flow from all directions will affect the display value of the multihead weigher, so it is necessary to avoid the air flow around the multihead weigher, even if people move quickly or weigh. Reaching out the heavy part may cause the weight display value to fluctuate. Shields can shield air flow and should be used when necessary. The above is the related issues about the application environment of the multihead weigher shared for you. I hope it will be helpful to you.
