What is the function of the rejection device of the multihead weigher?

Almost all multihead weighers are equipped with a sorting device to realize the function of sorting products or obtaining qualified products of the multihead weigher, and its position should be after the multihead weigher. For the multihead weigher, the defective products are removed and the qualified products are obtained. If the quality management of the product only uses weight detection, then after the product passes the multihead weigher, it is necessary to obtain the sorted product or obtain the qualified weight product according to the purpose of the product check weight, which needs to be completed by the rejection device.

A reject unit is a device that rejects a portion of product from an in-line product stream in response to a signal from the control system. The culling device can be part of the multihead weigher as a whole, or it can be provided separately. The reject signal is sent from the controller of the multihead weigher to the multihead weigher or the reject device downstream, usually the reject signal consists of mechanical contacts or solid state relays with high and low voltage outputs.

When the multihead weigher is integrated with the metal detector and the X-ray inspection device into a combined multihead weigher system, not only the products with unqualified weight need to be rejected, but also the unqualified products need to be rejected through the detection of the metal detector and X-ray inspection device, although the corresponding Different detection devices have different equipment to perform specific rejection actions, but they are all combined in a large rejection device. When other defect detection equipment is also installed on the assembly line, such as skewed product detectors, box opening detectors, these defective items also need to be rejected from the production line. Product that is incorrectly oriented (skewed or slightly rotated) has a longer length in the advancing direction than it actually is when oriented correctly, which may affect weighing performance.

Even a slightly rotating product can cause problems downstream, causing poor conveyance and even causing line jams or shutdowns. The sooner errors are detected and product is removed from the product flow, the higher the overall equipment efficiency of the production line. Photoelectric switches or other sensors are often used to determine the orientation of the product, and then incorrectly oriented skewed products are rejected from the production line.

With the ever-increasing speed of box production lines, there is always a risk that some boxes will open. If undetected, this risk has the potential to damage downstream printing equipment, vision inspection systems and sensors, and cause blockages. The product control option can be configured on the multihead weigher to detect box openings and reject them immediately to minimize production interruptions.

Additionally, because this is a configurable option, there is no need to provide additional space on the production line, minimizing manufacturing space.
